The Power of Faith – Lens Magazine

My image was selected for the back cover of Lens Magazine

I am honored to share that my photo essay Where Stone Still Prays has been published in the latest issue of Lens Magazine Issue #136.

This special edition explores The Power of Faith, Religion and Spirituality Across Cultures, bringing together visual stories that reveal how belief continues to shape communities, traditions, and identities around the world.

My contribution takes readers to the ancient rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations in Ethiopia. In Where Stone Still Prays, I document the enduring devotion of pilgrims who gather in these remarkable sanctuaries, where faith is woven into everyday life and centuries-old traditions remain vibrantly alive.

Through moments of prayer, contemplation, and communal worship, the essay seeks to capture not only the spiritual significance of Lalibela but also the profound human connection between faith, history, and place. These churches are more than architectural wonders carved from stone—they are living spaces of devotion, where the past continues to resonate in the present.

I am grateful to the editorial team of Lens Magazine for the opportunity to share this story alongside the inspiring work of photographers from around the world. I hope the images offer a glimpse into the timeless atmosphere of Lalibela and the enduring power of faith that continues to draw pilgrims to this extraordinary place.
